It was inevitable that I would find a way to get out and stroll among the vibrant colors of fall in Seattle with camera in hand before all of the trees were bare. The autumn leaves of red and gold have been calling me to join them, their haunting melody returning softly to remind me that time will not stand still to wait for me…
So here we are, enjoying a typical fall day in the Emerald City. Blustery, wet, with a hint of damp cedar clinging in the air. As one who truly loves this climate, the adventure was perfect, as we shared the splendor of a season changing…

Judi - I am amazed at how stunning the leaves are in other parts of the country. We seem to be lagging behind in getting our colors here in Sacramento. I am always in awe of the scenes you post of your beautiful city. Wonderful stuff!
Lovely post and I love Paula Cole's version of this - ever heard Eva Cassidy's? Both great versions of a great song. Thanks for the perfect break Judi.
Hi Myrl~ I took a break from my camera for a few weeks and was feeling a sense of urgency to get out there and take some photos before all the leaves were brown...leading to another favorite song that would fit nicely into this season!
Best regards from Seattle,
Hi Debb~ I love the Paula Cole version too! It is a bit haunting...
I'll check out the Eva Cassidy version on itunes!...
Happy to be a sourse of serenity any time Debb!

Judi, we are a few weeks ahead of you... we are in that drab dirty brown stage awaiting winter white =)
Oooh, how lovely! There's ONE tree outside of our office that has changed to RED, all the others are slacking.. it's very cool :)
Judi, Seattle is a really beautiful part of the world any time of the year.
Judy,
The pictures are beatiful and I love the song too. Nice job of putting the video together. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Judi, Beautifully done. Your words are almost to the level of prose . I have a few photos from last Fall but didn't make it back East this year. I wonder if anyone would notice, LOL?.
I"m with William. You are a soft soul, with a poetic spirit. Loved the choice of music and I'm jealous because my drives are making me ache to take photos and I couldn't.
Teardrops. First of all...the photo by the huge tree is totally AWESOME...please put that one photo in an upcoming post, OK? And..Paula Cole is one of my all-time favorites! The combination of color and sound makes those teardrops happy ones! THX!
Very nice video and an excellent choice of the music to go with the video. Thanks for sharing.
