Taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island is always a pleasure! Bainbridge Island is a beautiful place with a quaint hamlet feel and the ride over can be an adventure, if you choose to partake in the outdoor decks rather than enjoying the warm lounge areas offering caffeine, snacks and the ever popular eight dollar glass of beer!
Being the adventurous sort, I chose to enjoy the outdoor decks, exploring the two open levels, observing which gave me the best vantage to shoot some photos of Downtown Seattle looming on the horizon. I enjoy Elliot Bay and mountain views daily from my downtown home, making the view of city lights at night a delightful luxury to me!
The invigorating salt air, blustery nudge of the wind and light rain, only enhanced the trip back for me, while I drank in the ever closer visual of twinkling lights.
As we began our disembark, I couldn't help but observe that views of our beloved Emerald City are appreciated even by those who get to see them every day!
Just another reason to love living in Seattle...

Judi, I have rode those ferries more times than I could ever count. Living in Marysville and commuting to Port Angeles every month to see the folks makes for many, many ferry rides. I never get over the beauty of that wonderful city. I truly think it's one of the prettiest in the country. Great photos! Have a super week!!

Do people live on Bainbridge Island Judi? In Toronto people live on the Toronto Islands, and they are blessed with a fantastic view of the city. It would be a great place to live.

SIGH. Now I'm a bit homesick...Having lived in Friday Harbor for many years, I well understand Ferry Life...I didn't like waiting in line for hours (sometimes) to drive on that ferry...but I always loved the ride to and from the Island. ..even in winter with rough seas! THX for this reminder.

Judi, you have such a great "model" to photograph--this city really likes having its picture taken and it just shines in every photo! For some reason, just seeing the 3 fellas drinking it all in tugged at my heart...especially the one with his hands in his pockets--he seemed so relaxed. You captured it beautifully.
